This week some landowners in the vicinity of Little Creek Church Road, Clayton, NC received notification of plans to construct a 500' guyed tower. The structure will provide a signal for a new FM radio station for Johnston County. Space on the tower will also be available for new cellular and other wireless providers which will eliminate the need for other towers to provide improved cellular service.

The facility will include the tower and adjacent equipment building, to be constructed and operated by New Age Communications.  Located on a commercially zoned, fully wooded, 10.89 acre tract, the tower will be positioned in the center and camouflaged by the natural vegetation on the site.  The location was selected as it will provide extensive coverage of Johnston County.

New Age Communications is part of the Curtis Media Group, which operates North Carolina's largest network of stations - including WPTF, WQDR and the Triangle Traffic Network.
